This needs to be addresses asap. The AR's are insanely OP when shooting at tanks. There is no way a 4-5 man gang with militia assault rifles should even BE a threat to any non-militia tanks. When were the last time in real life, that an M1A1 Abrams tank had anything more than its paint scratched an AK47?
The problem is that even with the AR's random spread, when they run up to a tank, every bullet hits, at 100% damage, and that is just...stupid, especially since none of the 2 defunct and angle limited turrets can hit any standing that close unless they are lucky.
I would dearly like the DEVS to agree that using a cheap gang of AR idiots constitutes an exploit. It is clearly not supposed to be this way, and the bug is being exploited.
Also, it might be an idea to actually have the tank run OVER idiots getting in its way, instead of just pushing them in front of them almost indefinitely, or until some randomiser rarely decides that the enemy is dead, or you hit a wall with that enemy in between. |

Drake-696 wrote:Also, apples and oranges. You are comparing modern day munitions and armor to sci-fi future munitions and armor. So real world logic will always be a fail.
Also, I have run over people with my tank.
But I do agree it is too much damage too quickly on a fully decked out non-militia tank. However, are you sure those guys aren't throwing AV grenades in there? As a scout I AR tanks and toss AV grenades at them, though with others helping it generally ends up being an AR that gets the official kill stamp.
An AV grenade, forge gun or Swarm launcher I can understand, and the sudden drop in armour does tell when it happens, this is not it. it is the semi constant reduction of armour, waiting for the armour repper to either cool down, or kick in after activation, something I've noticed is severely delayed (10+ seconds) when a lot are shooting at the tank. Another bug.

Ad that the blasters have no splash damage, meaning it will take a direct hit, or actually 10 to kill an infantry, and that is not easy when the turrets move as slowly as they do,. |

Also, just because someone is using a strategy that seems unorthodox doesn't make it an exploit. According to ccp, exploits generally involve the use of actual glitches in the game itself to gain an advantage that cannot be obtained otherwise. For example: surrounding a tank with nothing but assault rifles and destroying it that way is not an exploit as anyone can do that easily without the need of a glitch. Now, if someone were to have discovered a glitch that enabled them to destroy your tank in just one or shots from a measly rifle, then that will be considered an exploit.
I'll go out on a limb and say that the dropships flying very high, going above the detection range, is a borderline exploit. |
